Dr Hashmet Parveen

Profile
Dr. Parveen is a Specialist General Practitioner who obtained her MBBS from Madras University India in 1984.
She moved to Brunei Darussalam in 1993 to work as a GP in the Ministry of Health for 17 years before moving onto an academic role at PAPRSB Institute of Health Sciences, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) till 2016.
While working she pursued her Post Graduate Diploma in Primary Health Care from St. Georges University London, UK in 2003. She then obtained the MRCGP Int (Brunei) in 2005 leading to extensive contribution as Examiner, Coordinator and Item writer for the MRCGP Exams in Brunei Darussalam. This gained her the FRCGP International Fellowship nomination from the RCGP, UK in 2017. She was also the coordinator for MRCP (PACES) UK conducted in UBD since 2010.
During her role as an academic clinician, she was a member of the Core Curriculum Steering Committee and was actively involved in teaching both undergraduate medical students and post graduate GP registrars.
She worked as a clinical academic balancing her clinical duties and academic responsibilities till 2010, before moving back to being a full time GP, in 2017, at Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) a large private JCI accredited hospital in Brunei. She served as a head of the Outpatient department and was a chapter leader in the JCI accreditation team.
She is currently a Direct WONCA member with the Medical Education group and has been privileged to write a chapter on Principles of Feedback, in Family Medicine in the Undergraduate Curriculum, a recent WONCA publication.
