Profile
Dr Chamath is a general practitioner and former academic in Family Medicine from Sri Lanka with previous experience in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care. He obtained his MBBS in 2011 and pursued postgraduate education in general practice/family medicine and palliative medicine in Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners in the UK. He has held several prominent roles, including Chairperson of the Primary Palliative Care Special Interest Group of the Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network (APHN), International Advisor for the Primary Care Reference Group of the European Association for Palliative Care (EAPC), and Board Member of the Palliative Care Association of Sri Lanka (PCASL). He is currently a Committee Member of the Palliative Care Special Interest Group of the World Family Doctors’ Organization (WONCA) and was appointed a member of the Primary Health Care Young Leaders’ Network of the World Health Organization (WHO).
